ISOPE Undergraduate Student Scholarship

The International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE) encourages college undergraduate students to study in any fields in Offshore Mechanics and Polar Engineering and participate in the annual ISOPE Conferences.

Purpose. This scholarship award will be based purely upon merit and is open to all university level students studying offshore, ocean or polar engineering and/or their allied technical fields. For this purpose, ISOPE will award scholarships of $500 for the academic year 2001-2002. The recipients are encouraged to join the ISOPE student membership.

Qualification. The applicant must be a registered undergraduate at a University and have not yet completed his/her advanced degree in the year of application. In case of equal merit between two or more students, preference will be given to a student member of ISOPE and/or a student who has actively participated in an ISOPE-sponsored meeting or co-authored a paper in the International Journal of Offshore and Polar Engineering.

Selection. Each scholarship offered is a competitive one. Sex, race, age, religion, nationality, etc. are not factors for consideration. The awardees are selected by the scholarship committee vote. The committee members are balanced in geopolitical distribution. No more than one scholarship shall be awarded in the same year to the applicants from one university.
