ISOPE Elected in May
New President and New Board Members

 

Cupertino, California, June 16, 2009 ¾ In May-June 2009, the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE) held the email election for new members of the board of directors, in accordance with the Society Bylaws.

Profs. Wataru Koterayama and Ronald H Knapp, Co-chairs, Nomination Committee Chairman (2008-2009) announced the June 16 society election results as follows. The term follows the ISOPE fiscal year of July 1st to June 30th.

Simon Prinsenberg, Section Head of Coastal Oceanography Section, the Bedford Institute of Oceanography, Canada. M.Sc. and PhD in physical oceanography from University of Washington (1967), Seattle. ISOPE Member (2001- ); TPC member; Chair of International Polar Technology Committee.

 

Xizhao Jiang, President and General Manager, Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNOOC Engineering), Tianjin, China

 

Antonio Sarmento, Associate Professor of mechanical engineering, Instituto Superior Tecnico, Lisbon Technical University, Lisbon, Portugal; Founder and Director of the Wave Energy Centre, Portugal; Ph.D. (1985) in Mechanical Engineering, Lisbon Technical University, the local secretariat of ISOPE-2007 Lisbon.
