2008 Session Organizers of the Year Award Go to

Emmanuel Fontaine, Australia and Mason Wu, USA

Cupertino, California, June 30, 2008 ¾ Prof. Jin S. Chung, Technical Program Committee (TPC) Chairman, announced that Dr. Emmanuel Fontaine, AMOG Consulting, Australia and Mr. Mason Wu, Acergy, USA are the co-recipients of the ISOPE-2008 Session Organizer of the Year Award.  They together initiated sessions on new emerging fields and solicited most abstracts in pipelines and risers and related fields.  One of the 2007 Session Organizer of the Year Award winner, Dr. Yong-Yi Wang, CRES, USA, will present the Award plaque to Fontaine and Wu at the Annual ISOPE Conference Banquet, July 9.

The Session Organizer of the Year Award was established in 1997 by the Society’s Board of Directors to recognize an individual’s selfless effort and contribution to the organization of sessions at ISOPE conferences, and to encourage others to view that individual as a role model. At the annual banquet, the TPC chair of the ISOPE conference or a chair-designated TPC member presents the Session Organizer of the Year Award to a session organizer who has successfully invited the largest number of papers or successfully established and organized a new technical field of the Society in the prior year.
