Vice President Hiroshi Saeki Promoted Hokkaido University President

CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA, November 15 ― Hokkaido University appointed Professor Hiroshi Saeki, a Society charter member as president of the University. He was vice president before promotion. Prof. Saeki is an internationally renowned expert on ice technology.

He was vice chair of International Polar Technology Committee (IPTC) of ISOPE, and has been active in organizing technical sessions at the annual ISOPE Conferences in the field of ice technology, including special sessions on the Japan Ocean Industry Association’s (JIOA) long-term research in ice technology. His team received ISOPE Best Paper Award at ISOPE-2002 Kitakyushu Conference.
