The Japan Society of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers (JASNA OE)

Prof. Shigeru Naito, Elected the First President

 

Cupertino, California, March 10, 2005  Effective April 1 the three societies of naval architects in Japan merge as a single society: gThe Japan Society of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers (JASNA OE).h The societies in three regions to merge are; the Kansai Society of Naval Architects of Japan, the Society of Naval Architects of Japan, the West-Japan Society of Naval Architects. The three societies will be reborn as new three branches of the JASNA OE.

The JASNA OEf office will be located in Tokyo. Prof. Shigeru Naito, Osaka University, the present president of the Kansai Society of Naval Architects of Japan is elected the first president for two-year term.

 

Prof. Naito is a charter member of International Hydrodynamics Committee (IHC) of ISOPE and co-hosted the ISOPE-94 Osaka. He and his group have been active in organizing technical sessions at the annual ISOPE Conferences and the Pacific Asia Offshore Mechanics Symposium in the field of hydrodynamics and advanced ship technology, and have been active in organizing technical sessions at the annual ISOPE conferences and symposium in the field of hydrodynamics.
