Frederking Presented 2005 ISOPE Awards to

Four of “Our Colleagues” at ISOPE-POSCO Banquet

Seoul, Korea, June 22, 2005 ¾ Many of our colleagues have provided key roles in establishing the Society and growing it to become the world-premier Society and conferences. Every year ISOPE recognizes their selfless contributions to ISOPE.

Dr. Robert Frederking, the Society president (2004-2005) presented the Award plaques at the Annual ISOPE Conference Banquet, June 22, recognizing in particular four of “our colleagues”:

·                        Prof. Edward Powers, professor of electrical and computer engineering, University of Texas at Austin, USA (in absence) and

·                        Dr. Tetsuya Hiraishi, Director, Port and Airport Research Institute, Japan,

in recognition of his dedication and invaluable contribution to the Society as a member of the Board of Directors, 2003-2005 and for the organization of the Fifteenth (2005) International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference, Seoul, Korea, June 19-24, 2005.

·                         Prof. Ro-sik Park, chairman of local organizing committee and past Dean of Graduate School, University of Ulsan, Korea, in recognition of his dedication and invaluable contribution to the Society as conference co-chair for the organization of the Fifteenth (2005) International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference, Seoul, Korea, June 19-24, 2005.

·                         Dr. Seok Won Hong, secretariat of local organizing committee and Director General. Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering, Korea, in recognition of his dedication and invaluable contribution to the Society as charter member and local secretariat for the organization of the Fifteenth (2005) International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference, Seoul, Korea, June 19-24, 2005.
