Five Outstanding Graduate Students Received
Offshore Mechanics Scholarships
Seoul, Korea, June 22, 2005 ¾ The International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE) awarded the 5 recipients the 2005-2006 ISOPE Offshore Mechanics Scholarships for outstanding graduate students as follows:
Mr. Daeho Fred Cha, GriffithUniversity, Gold Coast Campus, School of Engineering, Australia
Mr. Yun Sok Ha, Seoul National University, Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Korea
Mr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Yokohama National University, Department of Environment and System Sciences, Japan
Mr. Yong-Won Lee, University of New Castle Upon Tyne, School of Marine Science & Technology, United Kingdom
Mr. Dezhi Ning, Dalian University of Technology, State Key Laboratory of Coastal and Offshore Engineering, China
The Award Committee received 11 applications with outstanding records for 2005-2006. On behalf of Prof. Ivar Langen, Society Award Committee Chairman, Prof. Richard Miksad, the Award Committee member, presented the certificates and $700 checks to each of Mr. Cha, Mr. Ha, Mr. Kamruzzaman,, and Mr. Lee at the annual banquet, Seoul, Korea, June 22 (Click on banquet photos.) These recipients presented their papers at the annual ISOPE-2005 Seoul conference which were accepted after peer review.
The scholarship application deadline for 2006-2007 academic year is March 31, 2006. Graduate students and entering new graduate students from all continents can apply, who study and/or conduct research in any fields in or related to Offshore Mechanics, Ocean and Polar Engineering.
