ISOPE President Ivar Langen Elected President of

Stavanger University College

Cupertino, California, May 19, 2003 — The Stavanger University College faculty, Stavanger, Norway elected Professor Ivar Langen, the Society President (2002-2003) as president effective August 2003.

Leaving Statoil in 1994, he joined Stavanger University College, Stavanger, Norway as Professor of Mechanical Engineering (Applied Mechanics). From 2000 he has been vice dean of School of Science and Technology. He is the founder and director of Centre for Maintenance and Asset Management at Stavanger University College from 1997-. He has been and will continue to be active as: Associate Editor of International Journal of Offshore and Polar Engineering and technical program committee member. He was the host and co-chairman of the 11th International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference, Stavanger and member of Board of Directors (1997 – 2001)
