Dean Hiroshi Saeki Appointed Hokkaido University Vice President

Cupertino, California, May 10, 2003 — Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan appointed Professor Hiroshi Saeki, a Society member as vice president of the University. He was Dean of Engineering before promotion. He was vice chair of International Polar Technology Committee (IPTC) of ISOPE, and has been active in organizing technical sessions at the annual ISOPE Conferences in the field of ice technology, including special sessions on the Japan Ocean Industry Association’s (JIOA) long-term research in ice technology. His team received ISOPE Best Paper Award at ISOPE-2002 Kitakyushu.
