This 3-session symposium highlights emerging materials technologies for oil and gas production and transportation. Leading researchers from around the world representing ExxonMobil, Nippon Steel, Europipe, POSCO, Sumitomo Metals, and JFE Holdings (Kawasaki and NKK) are slated to present their work at this symposium.
A special symposium on High Performance Materials in Offshore Industry (HMOI) is organized as part of The Thirteenth (2003) Annual International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference (ISOPE 2003) with 89 sessions at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Hotel, Honolulu, May 25-29.
A special session in the symposium is devoted to the new development of High Strength Pipeline Technology. This session focuses on the science and technology of the recently developed X-100 and X-120 high-strength steels for linepipe. The symposium is expected to provide a major forum to advance the High Strength Pipeline technology by bringing together representatives from steel companies, oil and gas industries, welding institutes and regulatory bodies.
