2010 ISOPE Best Student Paper Award

Presented to an Outstanding Student at Beihang University, China

 

Beijing, China, July 1, 2010 ¾ The International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE) announced the recipient of its Best Student Paper Award at the ISOPE-2010 Beijing Conference Banquet:

 

Hydrodynamic Experimental Investigation on Efficient Swimming

of Robotic Fish Using Self-propelled Method

 

by Mr. Li Wen, Beihang University. Beijing, China. The paper was presented at the Twentieth (2010) International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference, Beijing, China, June 20-26, 2010.

Mr. Wen was presented the Award plaque and $1,000 Modi Prize.. After evaluating 120 nominations, 3 papers were short-listed by Technical Program Committee. The Award Committee then asked a panel of experts in each field for an expert evaluation. Screening through the qualification requirements ¾ originality and significance of the results ¾ and based on the expert evaluations, the Committee recommended that Mr. Wen’s paper as 2010 Best Student Paper.

205 graduate students registered at the Conference. The conference papers are all peer-reviewed for inclusion in the Proceedings of 10th International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference, ISOPE (ISBN 1-978-1-880653-77-7; ISSN 1098-6189). Some 1120 participants registered for the conference.
