Cupertino, California, June 30, 2008 ¾ In May-June 2008, the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE) held the email election for new members of the board of directors, in accordance with the Society Bylaws.
Prof. Tamotsu, Matsui, Chair, Nomination Committee Chairman (2007-2008) announced the
May 15 society election results as follow. The term follows the ISOPE fiscal year of July 1st to June 30th.

The new members serving for the 2008-2010 term, effective July 1, 2008 are:
Raghavan Ayer. Senior Scientific Advisor. ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company (EM R&E), Annandale, NJ (1999- ); MS/PhD University of California, Berkeley (Materials Science); Co-initiated and organized ISOPE High Performance Materials in offshore Industry symposium, 2003; Co-initiated Frontier Energy Resources Symposium at ISOPE-2008.
Han-il Park, Professor (1984- ), Dean, College of Ocean Science and Technology (2005-06), Korea Maritime University (1984- ); PhD University College London (ocean engineering); ISOPE session organizer of the year 2005 Award; Member, National Science and Technology Council, the Office of the President, Korea (2008- ).
Demos C Angelides, Chairman of Department of Civil Engineering (2005 - ); Professor of Marine Structures. (1998 - ), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki,Greece; PhD MIT – civil engineering; Dr. Angelides is a proposed local host for ISOPE-2011 Europe.
